MBAF's Tony Argiz Named One of South Florida Business & Wealth's 2015 Apogee Award Honorees

  • (1888PressRelease) September 18, 2015 - MIAMI - Tony Argiz, Chairman and CEO of nationally recognized public accounting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF) has been selected by South Florida Business & Wealth's as one of the recipients of the 2015 Apogee Awards. Argiz is one of 24 C-level executives who will be honored at a gala event on October 21 at the Nova Southeastern University Art Museum Fort Lauderdale.

    The Apogee Awards honor distinguished leaders in executive management positions who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their occupation, industries and communities. One award is given in each of South Florida's three counties for each of the eight categories: chairman/chairwoman, CEO, president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer, chief information officer, chief marketing officer and top HR executive. The nominations were open to the public, and a distinguished group of business leaders, community leaders and peers who comprise the SFBW editorial boards of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach were tasked with selecting the honorees.

    Since 1997, Argiz has led the growth of MBAF to become one of the top 40 accounting firms in the nation. He has actively served on leading industry associations, chairing many key committees in furtherance of the accounting industry. He has served on the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Nominations Committee and the governing body of the AICPA's Council, on the PCP Executive Committee and its Technical Issues Committee, and as Past Chair of the Florida Board of Accountancy and its Probable Cause Panel.

    Argiz also dedicates his time to supporting various civic and charitable organizations, including serving as Past Chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Past Chair of the United Way of Miami-Dade, Past Chair and President of the Orange Bowl Committee, and board member of the Beacon Council. Argiz has also served as past chair of religious and educational institutions including the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, the Archbishop's Charity and Development Drive, the FIU Council of 100, and the Miami Dade College Foundation.
