  • (1888PressRelease) September 24, 2015 - Fort Lauderdale - Tami Clemenza-Wilson, CPA/CFF, MST, principal in the Tax and Accounting Department at nationally recognized public accounting firm MBAF, was recently named audit committee chair for Women in Distress of Broward County, Inc. Tami will serve in this position for the 2015-2016 year.

    Women in Distress is the only nationally accredited, state-certified, full-service domestic violence center serving the Broward County, Fla. area. The organization works to stop domestic violence abuse for everyone through intervention, education and advocacy.

    Tami will be responsible for leading the organization's audit committee and working with committee members to provide oversight and governance to the financial reporting process, the audit process, the system of internal controls, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

    Tami holds a Master in Taxation from Florida International University and is also certified in financial forensics. She is an affiliate member of the Florida Bar - Family Law Section; CLE Committee; Equitable Distribution Committee; and the co-Secretary of the Litigation Support Committee. Tami is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, as well as the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where she participates in the Family Law Task Force for both organizations. Tami is on the Forensic Accounting Masters Program Advisory Board of Florida Atlantic University and is a mentor for Girls Going Places.
