  • (1888PressRelease) January 26, 2019 - MIAMI – Nationally recognized public accounting firm, MBAF, is proud to announce that Ileana Salort-Horta has been named a 2019 CFO of the Year finalist by the South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ).

    The SFBJ CFO Awards are presented annually and honor the area’s top financial executives for their accomplishments. The finalists and honorees will be recognized at a cocktail reception and awards program at Signature Grand in Davie on January 24.

    Salort-Horta has been in the public accounting profession since 1997. Prior to being named principal in the operations department in 2018, Ileana spent much of her career as an audit director at MBAF where her responsibilities included client service, engagement planning, budgeting, supervision, review, and researching technical issues. Her deep understanding and experience with both the auditing and accounting side of the business as well as the company operations give Salort-Horta a unique approach to her CFO/COO duties. In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, Salort-Horta plays an integral role in the training and development of young professionals as they begin their careers in accounting.

    With full oversight of MBAF’s operations, Salort-Horta has not only proven her role is invaluable to MBAF from a financial perspective, but she has also taken it upon herself to manage the firm’s cultural operations. Under Salort-Horta’s leadership, MBAF has been named a SFBJ Best Places to Work finalist for three consecutive years and a 2018 and 2017 Accounting Today Best Accounting Firm to Work For.     She is a Florida International University alumna where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management and her master’s degree in Taxation.
