Pravia, CPA in the Tax and Accounting Department of nationally recognized public accounting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), has been promoted to principal. Based in MBAF's Miami office, Pravia previously served as a director in the firm's Tax and Accounting Department. The announcement was made by Tony Argiz, Chairman and CEO of MBAF.

    Pravia's experience since 1991 spans various industries, such as insurance and financial institutions, as well as international tax including corporate, foreign nationals, and expatriates. Pravia also focuses on corporate tax accounting issues (ASC 740), an area that he dealt with extensively during his ten years of corporate tax experience at several prominent South Florida companies.?

    Pravia is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA), where he serves in the Federal Taxation Committee. Recently, he was appointed as Vice Chair of the FICPA Fed Tax Committee. He has chaired the United Way Audit Committee and sits on the Community Investment Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity and on the FIU School of Business Alumni Chapter Board. He regularly presents at continuing professional education seminars and has been an instructor for Becker CPA Review. He is an adjunct professor at Florida International University School of Accounting.

    A graduate of the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Pravia completed his master's degree in taxation at Florida International University, where he is a founder of his business fraternity's chapter.
