MBAF Names Frank Gonzalez Managing Principal of Miami Headquarters

  • (1888PressRelease) January 19, 2016 - MIAMI - Frank Gonzalez, CPA/CFF, has been named Managing Principal of the Miami office of nationally recognized accounting firm MBAF, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Tony Argiz, Chairman and CEO of MBAF.

    Gonzalez will also continue to serve as principal-in-charge of the firm's Audit Department across all offices, where he oversees the execution of processes and quality control, maintaining the department's standards and ensuring the use of best practices among his team. He also leads the firm's Financial Institutions and SEC practices.

    "Frank is a vital member of MBAF's leadership team, and since joining us in 2002 he has established himself as a respected leader within the firm and in the local community," said Argiz.     Additionally, he will play an expanded role in the firm's philanthropic efforts, elevating his involvement within the local community. An integral part of the firm's corporate culture, MBAF contributed more than $1.4 million to nonprofit organizations in the last year alone.

    Actively involved in advancing the accounting profession, Gonzalez serves as a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs; advisory board member of the Cuban-American CPAs; and is a board member and past president of the South Florida Banking Institute.

    He is equally dedicated to the community, serving on the board of directors for the Area Stage Company; treasurer for the CINTAS Foundation; member of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana; board member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; board member of Miami Dade College's Center for Financial Training; and as chairman of the Finance and Administration Committee and Audit Committee for the United Way of Miami-Dade. In 2015 he was elected to the Executive Committee of the Orange Bowl, where he also serves on the board of directors.

    Gonzalez earned his Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Accounting from Florida International University (FIU). He is an involved alumnus of FIU, serving as a board member of the FIU Foundation; a member of the College of Business Dean's Council; a lifetime member of the Alumnus Association; and a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Alumni Board.
