Los Angeles native now Texas resident Michael Guerra has been running the world-tour gauntlet with the twice Grammy Nominated band The Mavericks on their “Mono Mundo” 25th Anniversary tour. He has also managed to continue working on his newest project when home in San Antonio, Texas. He is also working at his home away from home, the legendary Blue Cat Studios in the South-town/King William District of San Antonio with longtime Producer Joe Trevino.

In a time with so much turmoil throughout the world, and especially at home in the United States, Guerra decided on “Spread The Love” to be the first single released world wide. The tune is a call to arms for the common man to help change the world 'one smile at a time.' “It's a really simple message,” Guerra said. “No matter your belief, political or otherwise, we can change the world for good, it just begins with something as simple as a smile to a stranger.”

The new record followed the same principal pattern that it's predecessor went through with one big change in the form producing the final master. Guerra teamed up with famed record producer, Niko Bolas who also co-produced, engineered and mixed the twice Grammy nominated “Brand New Day” album by the Mavericks.

“The new music is a walk thru time with the musical influences of Guerra clearly shining through from beginning to end,” said DB Media Entertainment CEO D.R. Pedraza,” who also wrote some of the songs on the record. “It has to be said that the backing band, The Nights Calling, are as tight an outfit as you'll find and they shine throughout the record. The album hearkens back to a time when artist's were allowed to “do what they do” and produce the music coming out of their souls. No cookie cutter here, folks,” he continued. “This album is hard to define but glorious to listen to, and much like Guerra's idol, Doug Sahm's music, each track is a groovy party in and of itself.”

After releasing his debut self-titled album in 2012, Michael was on tour with The Mavericks and hardly home to tour on his record but still managed to build a worldwide fan base and the record climbed as high as #22 on the Texas charts and #25 on the National charts. Soon after, MGB was selected as the 2013 Fox Music USA Band of the Year, in the “Tex-Mex/Tejano” category.

Deciding to continue to explore and expand the Tex-Mex Fusion sound he began on his first record, Michael began writing and gathering songs and has amassed an eclectic collection of genre bending tunes along with some pretty special guests to play them.
