  • Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN-WI (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2011 - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has appointed Minneapolis Shareholder Mark Schneider as co-chair of the firm's Traditional Labor Law Practice, a cornerstone practice for the firm. Schneider will work alongside John Skonberg to lead the efforts of this group on a national and global scale. The co-chair position was formerly held by the late James M.L. Ferber, who recently passed away.

"Mark was a natural choice to step into this role. We look forward to having him join the leadership ranks with John to further elevate Littler's reputation as the go-to source for traditional labor law services," said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of Littler. "Mark sees tremendous opportunity to expand our offerings on a global scale as the labor movement continues to engage in efforts to make itself a powerful force in today's workplace. We are confident that he will carry on the late Jim Ferber's vision while working collaboratively with John to further the firm's depth of talent and scope of services."

A practicing lawyer for nearly 35 years, Schneider has an international practice focusing on representing management in all phases of labor law and labor relations before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. He works with a broad range of clients, including state and national trade associations in the manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, healthcare and retail industries.

A sought after expert, Schneider has served as a lecturer and conducted seminars for trade associations and private industries and regularly speaks for employer groups and trade associations, including the Society for Human Resource Management, the Food Marketing Institute, and the Grocery Manufacturers Association. He has consistently been recognized as a leading lawyer by Best Lawyers, one of the oldest and most respected peer-review publications in the legal profession.

Schneider received his J.D. from Marquette University and his M.A. and B.A. from Boston College.
