  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 10, 2011 - Mark Isham is scoring ABC's new period drama series Once Upon A Time, a modern-day fairy tale created by Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. The premiere episode, released on October 23rd, is the highest rated new drama. Isham scores the series using a full orchestra. The award-winning composer recently scored the films Warrior and Dolphin Tale, both currently in theaters. He also just received a Best Score nomination from the Hollywood Music in Media Association for Warrior.

Once Upon A Time tells the story of Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), who knows how to take care of herself, but when Henry -- the son she gave up years ago -- finds her, everything changes. Henry believes that Emma actually comes from an alternate world and is the missing daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Joshua Dallas). Not believing a word of Henry's story, Emma brings him back to Storybrooke, but finds herself drawn to this unusual boy and his strange New England town. She soon suspects that Storybrooke is more than it seems... It's a place where fairytale characters are alive, even though they don't remember who they once were, and where the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla), known as Regina, is now Henry's foster mother.

Mark Isham's musical talent is evident in his memorable scores for such notable films as Crash (Oscar winner for Best Picture), Miracle, A River Runs Through It (Oscar nomination for Best Score), Nell (Golden Globe nomination for Best Score). Starting with his first score for Never Cry Wolf, Isham's unique voice has graced such critical favorites as Quiz Show, The Cooler, In the Valley of Elah, Little Man Tate, The Moderns and Fly Away Home. His recent credits display his range in music compositions, from the action-pack themes for The Mechanics to dark and dramatic inspirational themes for Warrior.

His lists of collaborators in film is a veritable who's who of the entertainment industry - Robert Redford, Tom Cruise, Brian De Palma, Chick Corea, Jodie Foster, Robert Altman, Sting, Wil.I.Am, Sydney Lumet, Mick Jagger and countless others. As a performing artist, Mark has added his unique sound - melodic, moody, sexy and cool - to a wide variety of genres. He has graced the albums of such diverse artists as Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Ziggy Marley, Joni Mitchell, The Rolling Stones, Chris Isaak and Van Morrison. His solo recordings range from electronica and hip-hop to classic jazz and world music and have received worldwide critical acclaim, including Grammy nominations for his albums Castalia and Tibet, and a win for his Virgin Records release, Mark Isham. Isham is an activist against music piracy and he has launched a campaign called "I Buy My Music".
