Manulife Singapore Appoints New Chief Operations Officer

  • (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2015 - Singapore - Lay Hoon is responsible for overseeing the company's Information Services (IS), Project & Change Management and Operations division that includes business functions such as new business, underwriting, claims, customer services, policy services and office management. In her role, she will also lead strategic technology and change management projects to help the company achieve its business goals.

    Lay Hoon has 19 years of experience working in both local and multinational insurers as well as broking and consulting firms. Her experience spans across different lines of businesses, including life, health, group and general insurance as well as investment platforms. In the course of her career, she has held corporate roles in diverse areas, ranging from operations to sales management, compliance and product development.

    Besides her strong local experience, Lay Hoon had also previously worked in Hong Kong in a regional sales management role and in Shanghai to open up the broking arm for a consulting firm. Prior to joining Manulife, she was an independent management consultant advising companies in the health insurance sector.

    Lay Hoon holds a Bachelor of Business Studies with a major in Actuarial Science from Nanyang Technological University. She is also a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.
