August 22, 2016: Manav Rachna International School (MRIS), Charmwood, charmed everyone with the rare initiative of launching 12 budding authors from its School at a book release event that was as delightful as it was intellectually stimulating.

'Vivid', a compilation of twelve stories in which the budding authors have captured their ideas and experiences creatively, is both original and unique, in that the stories have been penned straight from the heart by the students. The launch of 'Vivid' was meant to help them flourish and nurture their creative talent. The authors of the book comprising Ankit Jha, Anna Steger, Diksha Dawar, Himal Bhat, Hiren Gupta, Moksha Mishra, Naysha Jain, P.Srinath Saatvik, Rishika Kharbanda, Rithvick Rao, Syed Anser, Zsofia Steger has a vibrant mix of stories like 'Boat No. 6754', 'Semblance of Truth', 'Midnight Magic', 'The Crisis of Fifty', Everything for Something' and the like. The budding authors were inspired and guided by Ms Sanyogita Sharma, Principal MRIS Charmwood under whose leadership their creative instincts flowered.

The Book release event had attracted a sizeable gathering of people from various walks of life. Mr. Tom Alter, Padma Shree and a renowned stage and film actor was the Chief Guest at the Book launch while Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI, graced the special occasion as Guest of Honour.

Manav Rachna has always believed in the philosophy of fostering talent in its efforts to 'create better human beings'. The Institution, in its efforts to do something profoundly good and of enduring value, had invited experts from Quill Club Writers to produce the book of stories with the students of MRIS. The children have exhibited their innate abilities by using appropriate language, style and format to knit their thoughts into narratives. They underwent gruelling sessions with their mentors to come up with beautifully evocative stories of varied genres which are set in different backgrounds as per their real life experiences, exposure and creative thoughts.

Appreciating the children on their literary pursuits, Tom Alter, veteran actor and theatre personality who launched the Book along with Dr Amit Bhalla, said, "I feel it is an honour and privilege to launch the works of such a talented bunch of writers who are as driven as they are creative. I am sure their stories, drawn from the repository of their experiences, will inspire more such budding writers to take to the path of writing. I am deeply touched by the honest expression of their thoughts-- a rare trait these days. These budding authors born post 2000, have shown that there is more to life than the consumerist culture surrounding us. Their stories based on arts, science and sports is a validation of that fact."

Congratulating the young minds for giving vent to their creativity, Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, felt that that the bouquet of stories will propel the young authors to pursue their passion for literature and find wide appreciation among a wide spectrum of readers. He stated further, "The Book has come to life because of the fruition of the dream of our Founder Father Dr O.P. Bhalla who wished that Manav Rachna should have different flavours and give young minds the opportunity to evolve through multifarious activities. As for the writers of 'Vivid', they have proven that the faith we have placed in them is well worth it. Our children are capable of positively changing the world with their talent. It is also our duty to nurture their talents by giving them the platforms that help them flourish."

Also present at the Book Launch were Ms Goldy Malhotra, Director, Academic Excellence, MRIS; Ms Nisha Bhalla, Executive Director, MRIS Charwood; Dr Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI; Ms Ruchira Mittal, Quill Club Writers; among others.
