Although born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Luke Powers has come a long way since his early days when he was the co-captain of his high school wrestling team. Studying at the University of North Carolina and Vanderbilt University, Luke is now a Professor of English and Folklore. Music has always been his calling though and he is proud to release this latest album which is gaining critical acclaim from around the world.
Now based in Nashville, this astonishing sixteen song album (all of which were penned by Luke) sees him exploring his own life in the context of the Americana past symbolised by the "music road" HWY 100. His lyrics are accompanied by a range of instruments that include fiddle, mandolin and pedal steel; all of which performed with such ease and style that it showcases Luke's fellow musicians off very nicely indeed.
With HWY 100 and his previous records receiving both critical acclaim and radio airplay from around the world, there never has been a better chance to hear for yourself the intimate yet widely appealing music that Luke Powers releases time after time.
