  • (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2014 - BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS - The Louisiana Health Information Management Association (LHIMA) is the second AHIMA Component State Association this year to partner with Libman Education. LHIMA will offer Libman Education's entire line of training courses to help members train in ICD-10 and other medical coding topics.

Like the Virginia Health Information Management Association (VHIMA) - which recently became a Libman Education affiliate - LHIMA is making the courses available to help members maximize their coding knowledge, especially in preparation for next year's ICD-10 implementation.

Through Libman Education's partner program, LHIMA can offer members several ICD-10 training tools, including courses, assessments, and learning aids. Course topics include anatomy and physiology, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, ICD-10 for post acute care, and ICD-10 for clinicians. In addition, the program offers credential exam preparation, home health coding courses, and HIPAA courses.

All courses are online and self-paced, and include a one-year unlimited access.

"One of our top priorities is seeing our members excel as health information management professionals," said Ralph H. Morrison, LHIMA Central Office Coordinator. "And we want to help them achieve this by providing them with high quality training. By partnering with Libman Education we can offer some of the best training out there. This partnership is timely, given the upcoming ICD-10 implementation, and Libman Education's abundance of ICD-10 readiness materials."

LHIMA is part of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - the premier association of health information management professionals worldwide. LHIMA's mission is to promote the professional development of its members through education, communication, and lifelong learning, thereby fostering quality health information to benefit the public, the healthcare consumer, providers and other users of clinical data.
