  • (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2019 - Ripple Foundation’s Annual Kids Write 4 Kids (KW4K) writing challenge is the only one of its kind in the country that provides youth the opportunity to become published authors before high school, while giving back to their communities through the charity of their choice.

Each year, young authors in grades 4 – 8 from every province and territory in Canada have a chance to share their stories with the world. Since 2012, all net proceeds from the sales of their books have benefited local schools and charities.

“Advocating for creativity and education in youth has the potential to shape the leaders of tomorrow. It increases self-esteem and confidence, as well as youth’s ability to engage with older generations. This helps to set them up for future success and prepares them to tackle life’s challenges.” – Ivy Wong, Founder, Ripple Foundation

“I had never anticipated the positive effects this contest would have on my daughter. Reading reviews on Amazon about her book and doing book readings made her feel like a real author, and motivated her and the children in her school to get excited about writing. This positive experience has helped her become more confident about sharing her ideas, and to mentor and create a love for writing in others.” – Farheen Ali, mother of past winner Safaa Ali

All entries received by March 31, 2019, will be reviewed by a judging panel of notable Canadian authors including Robert Paul Weston, along with last year’s contest winners. The 2019 winners will be announced on July 1, 2019.
