  • Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) November 22, 2011 - Newly established Colorado Non-Profit, The McDonald Hyundai Hope Foundation, has just donated the funds raised from their golf tournament to the Children's Hospital Pediatric Cancer Unit to help fight childhood cancer.

The formal check presentation was held at the McDonald Hyundai dealership just south of Denver in Littleton. The foundation invited representatives from each of the sponsors who participated in their first annual golf tournament to join for appetizers and drinks and to hear speeches from the Hyundai Hope Ambassador, Addison Kleinhans, and the Children's Hospital representative, Jaqueline Owens Lindley.

The foundation was created to raise funds for organizations and causes throughout Colorado, particularly focusing on pediatric cancer. Their first charity golf tournament involved 100 golfers and numerous sponsors who wanted to help support this important cause.

"We are so excited about the turnout for our first event," says Jon Bittrolff, General Manager of McDonald Hyundai and President of the foundation. "It's exciting because we are such a new foundation and we hope it will just continue to grow year after year."

The event raised a total of $27,500.00 to be given to the Pediatric Cancer Unit at the Children's Hospital; $7,500.00 more than the foundation had initially expected. Funds from events such as this help towards funding research and technology to help make treatment more comfortable for children and hopefully one day find a cure.

The foundation's ambassador, Addison Kleinhans, spoke about his own experience going through treatment at the Children's Hospital and related how important these medical advances are.

"Thank you for giving all this money to the hospital," Kleinhans said. "It has really improved all the treatments."

The McDonald Hyundai Hope Foundation plans to continue their support for important causes such as this for years to come. To find out more about the McDonald Hyundai Hope Foundation or to make a donation please visit www.mcdonaldhyundaihope.org.
