LifeNet4Families to hold 2nd Annual Gala

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2013 - CBS 4 Anchor, Silva Harapetian, will host as Master of Ceremonies to applaud the center's 28 years of serving the homeless and hungry families of South Florida.

    Russell T. Martin, LifeNet4Families Chief Executive Officer said, "As we enter our 29th year of service, we invite everyone to join us for a casual evening to help raise money that will positively impact the quality of life for thousands of at-risk families and individuals."

    The core mission of LifeNet4 Families' is to empower people to overcome personal crisis. This is accomplished by feeding hungry bodies, minds and souls through the provision of nutritious food, information, and by referral to our partner agencies. These combined resources work to reduce hunger and poverty.

    The evening begins at 7pm with a cocktail reception followed by a buffet dinner catered by Publix Aprons. The festivities include entertainment, a silent auction and a live auction. This celebration is made possible by sponsorships from Consolidated Credit Counseling Services Inc., Hilton World Wide, Gibraltar Private Bank, Park West Galleries, Private Equity Funding, Transworld Business Advisors, Southern Wine and Spirits, Broward Health, Wells Fargo, Bartlett Financial Services, Holland America, Independence Title, and Kaufman, Rossin & Co.

    Formerly known as the Cooperative Feeding Program, LifeNet4Families is Broward County's largest community-based food pantry and is designed to meet the needs of families and individuals who have fallen into economic hardship, including the homeless, nearly homeless, those with disabilities, the elderly, and persons with mental illness. Among the many services offered by LifeNet4Families is a Community Kitchen serving 400-600 meals a day 365 day of the year, an Emergency Food Pantry helping up to 4,000 low-income families monthly; and a staging area for local agencies and government during times of Disaster Assistance.
