  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 13, 2012 - Levin Management has secured five new shopping center property assignments in recent weeks, reflecting continued demand for expert third-party retail real estate services in the New York/New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets, according to Matthew K. Harding, the firm's president and chief operating officer. The company's latest assignments also illustrate the diversity of Levin Management's 95-property, 12.5 million-square-foot portfolio, its extensive and growing client base, and the roles the firm fulfills for those clients.

Celebrating its 60th year in 2012, Levin Management is recognized as one of the nation's leading retail real estate services firms. Its portfolio has grown consistently over the years. The North Plainfield, N.J., company offers a full range of services, including property management, leasing, accounting, construction management and marketing. Levin Management serves properties ranging from neighborhood, community, lifestyle and power centers, to enclosed malls, downtown stores and mixed-use projects.

"Shopping center owners - whether they be institutional, fiduciary or individuals - are more focused today than ever before on maximizing efficiency and appeal at their properties," Harding said. "They recognize that the best way to increase the bottom line in a challenging economy is to incorporate lean, yet effective, operations, and win top tenants by offering quality shopping environments. Simply put, hiring a firm that specializes in these specific areas, like Levin Management, is a sound business strategy."

Levin Management's new assignments include leasing- and/or management-specific roles. They include:

Olde Lafayette Village in Lafayette, N.J. - Levin Management was named court-appointed receiver for this 95,000-square-foot center, which features a blend of factory outlet stores, specialty and antiques shops, and restaurants. As both leasing and managing agent, the company is working toward operational and aesthetic improvements, and implementing a forward-thinking leasing strategy to fill vacancies at the property.

Whiting Town Center in Whiting, N.J. - AAM Management, LLC, which recently acquired Whiting Town Center, appointed Levin Management as manager for this 118,000-square-foot, grocery-anchored asset. In addition to upgrading the center's appearance and implementing a strategy for ongoing maintenance, Levin Management is tasked with creating a series of special events for local residents.

Pathmark Plaza in Staten Island, N.Y. - The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company named Levin Management leasing agent for its Pathmark Plaza, located on busy Arthur Kill Road. Anchored by an A&P-owned Pathmark store, the 63,764-square-foot neighborhood shopping center has four units available, ranging from 1,141 to 1,725 square feet.

Central Ave. in Scarsdale, N.Y. - This 30,000-square-foot, single-tenant property currently is occupied by a supermarket but will become available in 2014. An existing Levin Management client retained the firm as exclusive leasing agent to secure a new tenant for this high-visibility Westchester County retail asset.

Atlantic Plaza in Pleasantville, N.J. - Levin Management is serving as managing agent for this 21,800-square-foot Atlantic County shopping center, working on behalf of the lending institution that recently took control of the property. The firm's efforts there center on physical upgrades and ensuring efficient, effective operation.

"Our newest projects include an interesting mix of property and assignment types," Harding said. "In every case, we carefully define and approach our goals with the individual property in mind, leveraging our market knowledge, relationships and operational expertise. From retenanting to renovating - and everything in between - we strive to create a balance that benefits our clients, their tenants and the larger community."

Levin Management's portfolio has a strong emphasis in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, with additional properties in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. The company has earned a long list of coveted awards over the years. In 2011 alone, the firm was ranked 30th among Top US Real Estate Companies and named among the nation's top property managers by Commercial Property Executive magazine, placed among the nation's top 10 redevelopers by Chain Store Age for the second year in a row, and credited as one of the state's top 10 real estate developers by New Jersey Business magazine.
