  • (1888PressRelease) June 20, 2013 - Roughly 3 months after its formal launch at the Game Developer's Conference 2013 (GDC 2013) in San Francisco, Letter UP has now registered more than 75,000 installs on Facebook. Word game enthusiasts find Letter UP's "live" gaming feature to be a major draw, which is a significant departure from how the other, more established games such as Scrabble and Words with Friends, are played.

Letter UP was created by independent game developer Hey Snails Inc. It is a multiplayer word game played in 'real-time' - a key strength that many who have tried the game find really exciting and a lot more fun.

"I love this game…even addicted to it" says one gamer who posted this message on Letter UP's Facebook page wall. Other players who just discovered Letter UP also find the time limits a great thing as it doubles up the thrill, not to mention that game sessions can be completed in minutes.

"Letter UP engages up to four players at the same time. This is our way of bringing back old school gameplay that we have grown to love," quipped Harold Khan, Hey Snails Inc.'s Co-founder and Chief of Design.

The market for casual gaming is vast and Letter UP is steadily inching forward to corner a significant piece of the pie. In a recent Online Casual and Social Games Trend Report published by NewZoo, an international market research firm, it was revealed that people in the US spend 215 million hours on gaming every day, 39% of which are attributed to online casual and social gaming.

"Letter UP is officially 3 months old and has now reached over 75,000 installs. Thank you for your support. We will do our best to continue giving you a great word game with NO pop-up ads, NO license boundaries, and NO waiting for days. Keep playing!" says an enthused Redentor Quiambao, Founder of Hey Snails Inc. and its Chief Technology Officer.
