Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former convict who spends a lifetime seeking redemption in the face of oppression, injustice, and revolution in 19th century France. The show features a score by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer.
