  • Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) October 08, 2011 - When Lennar introduces its new "Twin" model homes during a Grand Opening Event on Saturday, Oct. 15th at Greenbriar Stonebridge in Monroe Twp., NJ, active-adult buyers will have an opportunity to explore a model home unlike any other.

Designed to showcase the community's side-by-side designs, one model will be a spectacularly furnished home, while the other will be a "de-constructed model" which will give buyers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how a Lennar home is built. Twelve "stops" will be designated throughout the de-constructed model home, each with detailed information on what's behind the walls and the Lennar building process. A voice-over at each station will explain all of the construction nuances to visitors, providing them with greater insight into what goes into a Greenbriar Stonebridge home.

"The de-constructed model is like a science lab our customers can walk through to obtain a greater understanding of the construction of their home," explains Don Bompensa, President of Lennar's New Jersey Division, which is developing the award-winning community of 946 single-family residences.

"We want our buyers see for themselves what's behind the walls which will demonstrate Lennar's steadfast commitment to achieving the highest levels of construction quality and integrity. The home buying public is well-aware of our Everything's Included program which includes today's most popular features and appointments already factored into the purchase price. What buyers don't always recognize is that the program extends to key home elements that they typically can't see. We want buyers to see them, and this unique approach to presenting a model home will allow them to do just that."

For example, one of the 12 stations in the new model will be a cut-out column in the corner of the family room which will expose such materials and systems as Post Load beams, TJI floor joists, joist hangers, wall blocking, nail plates and fire caulk. Corresponding explanations of the purpose served by each will be provided. In the kitchen, one of the stations will show how the cabinets are constructed and secured into the wall. Other stations will include information on electrical outlets, hardwood floors, plumbing and laundry facilities.

"There is a lot more to a home than square footage and number of bedrooms," Mr. Bompensa points out. "Our goal in creating this de-constructed model was to give our buyers an appreciation for everything that goes on behind the walls and how it all works together to create a comfortable, efficient residential experience."
