  • (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2012 - New York, NY LEICHT New York is proud to join the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems (CES) as an approved continuing education provider. LEICHT New York will offer an inaugural course: Architecture + Kitchen I.

This course will provide participants with an overview of the various finish options and technologies available for modern kitchen design. The course provides a detailed examination of kitchen-material topics, such as, durability, function, lifestyle, aesthetics and external environment, all of which should be considered when selecting kitchen finishes. Through real life case studies of architectural projects from around the world, this presentation will examine the influence that material selections, hardware and integrated appliances play in designing a harmonious kitchen in which clean lines are used as a design tool. Kitchen projects that highlight the architectural dialogue between interior and exterior environments and integrated living spaces will be explored.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) was created in 1857. Through education, government advocacy, community redevelopment, and public outreach activities, the AIA works toward a public environment that is responsive to the people it serves while representing the professional interests of America's architects.

The AIA recognizes that continuing education in architecture is crucial to advancing and improving the profession. Architects need continuing education to maintain competency, to prepare for the future, to fulfill the continuing education requirements for AIA membership, and frequently to renew state licensure. AIA/CES Approved Providers are organizations that have been approved by AIA/CES to offer continuing education.
