  • (1888PressRelease) December 13, 2012 - Miami Beach, Fla. - After celebrating its 30th anniversary in style, the Swimwear Association of Florida's SwimShow is expanding in 2013, adding another hall at the Miami Beach Convention Center and offering close to 400,000 square feet to swimwear buyers and manufacturers from across the globe.

Already the largest swimwear trade show in the world, the expanded show, scheduled for July 20-23, 2013, is expected to welcome more than 8,500 brands and buyers from more than 60 countries. The additional space will allow special new areas to be laid out including a high-end Designer section and a Lingerie section to highlight those exclusive lines.

"The demand for space at the SwimShow has absolutely skyrocketed, which meant at times, we had to turn away new brands that we wanted to include. This expansion will give more companies a chance to join the show and become one of our members," said Diane Brucks, President of the Swimwear Association of Florida, noting that the show would still involve a strict juried process of selection. "All of these amazing brands offer the appeal, energy and design that will brighten beaches and inspire outdoor activity from season to season across the globe."

As the premier resource for buyers from all swimwear categories with more than 2,500 lines from across the world, the SwimShow features a variety of iconic women's, men's and children's swimwear companies including Milly, Shoshanna, Roidal, Manuel Canovas, Seafolly, Jets, Despi, Delfina, Maryan Mehlhorn, Luli Fama, Heidi Klein, Lenny, Natori, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Parke & Ronen, Zimmermann, Gottex, BCBG, Vitamin A, L*Space, Melissa Odabash, Osklen and many more.

"Year after year, this is where the swim industry gathers for the latest and greatest trends," said SwimShow Executive Director, Judy Stein. "As we continue to offer the best new designers and lines, we are thrilled to offer more space to showcase the best in swimwear and lingerie from across the world."

Women's swimwear sales alone were projected to reach almost $3 billion in 2012 and total U.S. swimwear sales were estimated at $4.2 billion, according to NPD Group forecasts, highlighting the reasons for the SwimShow's popularity and expansion plans.
