  • Santa Rosa, CA (1888PressRelease) June 27, 2019 - SAN MATEO, Calif. - Evisort, an artificial intelligence (AI) technology company, today announced the appointment of legal tech veteran Alexander Su (Alex) as its Director of Business Development. Su previously led the sales team at Logikcull, an eDiscovery automation company that grew revenue from 0 to $10M in just 19 months. Su’s move is the latest in a recent trend of leadership talent being drawn to Evisort due to its explosive growth this year.

Over the past decade, Su has been uniquely positioned to observe the evolution of legal technology. Earlier in his career, Su managed numerous discovery workflows as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell. After joining Logikcull as one of its earliest sales hires, Su witnessed how cloud-based automation streamlined processes and changed how cases were being litigated.

More recently, Su sensed that new technology was beginning to impact other types of legal work. Similar to how automation disrupted litigation in the past, AI technology is now changing how contracts are being managed. Venture capital firms have caught on to this broader trend: Between 2017 and 2018, investment in legal technology companies grew by 713%, according to Forbes.

“Artificial intelligence is among the fastest-growing areas in the space,” said Su. “Evisort has designed its AI-powered contract management technology thoughtfully, and in a way that delivers immediate and significant value to law firms and corporate legal departments.”

As the Director of Business Development, a newly-created position, Su will serve as an evangelist for Evisort, and lead industry conversations about how AI can empower legal teams. Jerry Ting, CEO of Evisort, said: “We are thrilled to have Alex Su join the Evisort team at the helm of our business development efforts. Alex’s combined experience as a lawyer and a sales leader at Logikcull provides tremendous value for our clients.”
Prior to his tenure at legal technology companies and law firms, Su served as a law clerk to the Hon. Edmond E. Chang of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and received his J.D. from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review.
