    Laurel Sykes is the SVP and Chief Risk Officer for Montecito Bank & Trust and is responsible for the Bank’s compliance, information security, and fraud departments. She has been a banker for more than 25 years, the last 20 of which were in risk management. She’s a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM). As the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act Officer, she also teaches financial literacy training throughout the community which includes training to prevent financial scams. Montecito Bank & Trust has seen an uptick in the last year in both online debit card fraud and wire scams and she will be sharing the common attributes of some of those attacks as well as helpful tips for what you can do personally to minimize the risk that you might be the next victim.
