  • (1888PressRelease) October 21, 2010 - NUREMBERG, Germany - Open-Xchange, a provider of business-class open source collaboration software, today announced the latest update for Open-Xchange Server providing users with significant usability enhancement and mobility support for HTC, Android 2.1 and 2.2.

Open-Xchange provides users with a more intuitive layout of the AJAX-based web interface. A new folder tree design and additional features make the interface of the Open-Xchange web client easier to use and more appealing. Users can switch between e-mail, contacts, calendar, tasks, document management and settings with a single click.

With the "Social OX" feature, Open-Xchange enables aggregation of e-mail and contact information from external mail services and social networks using "subscriptions," along with "publication" of select documents and contact information to trusted parties as websites. This makes it possible to share information without sending large e-mail attachments. This latest update provides users with a special view to easily manage all their personal subscriptions and publications. Anyone can try the Social OX features at a special preview website, http://ox.io.

This update adds support for HTC smartphones and mobile devices using Android 2.1 and 2.2 for over-the-air synchronization. This is in addition to existing support for smartphones that include BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia and Windows Mobile. Open-Xchange users can securely manage e-mail, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes with almost all common mobile devices.

"We continually make progress towards making Open-Xchange the hub for all kinds of digital communication," said Rafael Laguna, CEO, Open-Xchange. "We give users access to their contact data and relevant documents - private and business - anywhere, anytime and with virtually any device."
