  • (1888PressRelease) October 06, 2015 - Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI), one of the largest independent materials testing and calibration laboratories in the industry, participated in the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) Corporate Challenge MobilePack event on Saturday, September 26th. LTI's volunteers gathered to cover four shifts at Delaware Valley University to hand-pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children. Volunteers collectively packed 357,696 meals, surpassing the FMSC goal of 336,000. This means that 980 hungry children will be fed for one year. In addition, thanks to corporate and individual donations, over $62,000 was raised along with contributions of canned goods and other dry foods that will replenish local food pantries.

Feed My Starving Children, founded in 1987, is a non-profit organization committed to feeding undernourished children. Meals contain rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and vitamins, providing growing children the nutrition they need. Once hand-packed by volunteers, these life-giving meals are then sent to partners around the world where they are used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty.

Employees from Laboratory Testing Inc. also participated in the local event last year, making them part of the nearly 250,000 MobilePack volunteers at more than 230 events in 37 states who packed approximately 63 million meals. These events provide a unique volunteer experience to reach children around the world. FMSC food has reach more than 70 countries in their history and believes in continually providing food to those in need to maintain their feeding programs. The employees and owners of Laboratory Testing Inc. also help those in need closer to home. The company runs an annual Thanksgiving food drive and an end-of-year holiday gift collection for some needy families in the local community. Employees donate food, toys, clothing, gift cards and more, while the company makes a cash contribution.
