  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2014 - Known for using the hottest supermodels such as Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley, Irina Shayk and Kate Upton, Sports Illustrated offers a sneak peak at the upcoming 50th Anniversary Swimsuit issue and La Isla swimwear had the honor to have its suit featured on international icon Marissa Miller.

As NBC aired exclusive footage from the making of the milestone issue, La Isla's very own Lace Bouquet bikini took center stage as Sports Illustrated's legendary supermodel Marissa Miller slipped on the fun and flirty piece and strutted her curves. Being featured in Sports Illustrated is no stranger to renowned La Isla, however, this feature was also a big milestone for the swimwear brand. "Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition is the most highly anticipated issue of the year and followed by many in this industry and across the world," says La Isla Founder Enrique Sánchez-Rivera. "To be a part of their 50th anniversary special and on one of our favorite supermodels Marissa Miller is a dream come true."

While the issue won't hit stands until February 18th, fans have the opportunity to purchase styles just like La Isla's exclusive Lace Bouquet suit now on their website at: laislabrand.com. In addition, La Isla's 2014 Collection will launch on their site this February 28th.

La Isla's manufacturing facility is in Medellin, Colombia, where all of the employees are locals and most are head-of-household women. The facility operates using as much natural light as possible, and uses digital printing for many t-shirts to conserve natural resources. While currently using mostly Oeko-tex certified fabrics, La Isla is working toward complete sustainability with the implementation of recycled PET material. And to support the local economy, all fabrics comprising La Isla's 2014 collection will be sourced from Colombia.

With a commitment to serving the nature that inspires, La Isla has aspirations to improve their environmental friendliness as the technology becomes available. La Isla prides itself on an astute awareness of its surroundings, but drawing inspiration from the beauty of life goes hand-in-hand with acknowledging the suffering.
