  • (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2016 - Los Angeles, CA - The Familia Unida 13th annual Wheelchair Wash Festival takes place this Sunday at the East Los Angeles Civic Center. Festivities kick off with a red carpet ceremony beginning at 10am in celebration of national disabilities awareness month. Admission is free and includes lunch. Come get your wheelchair washed, waxed, and tuned up. Hundreds of volunteers are in attendance washing wheelchairs and providing additional services at no costs such as haircuts, manicures, makeovers, massages, children's activities, community resources, and much more! Live entertainment throughout the event to feature performers celebrating life through music and dance.

    Red Carpet Roll Ceremony ( @ ) 10am

    Rolling through the red carpet!
    Familia Unida will release 20 doves during the opening ceremony to commemorate the 20th year anniversary of the non-profit agency the hosts the annual event. The hallmark organization will also pay tribute the community served and bring awareness to disabilities month. Attendees roll through the red carpet getting the VIP treatment with photographers snapping photos and fans cheering and singing as the event kicks off!

    Limitless Performance - Main Stage ( @ ) 1:30pm

    Performs on the main stage at 1:30pm.

    Special guest performance at 1:30pm by Limitless a group of no boundaries showcasing talented dancers. Limitless Dance Group embraces individuals of all backgrounds and abilities and enable opportunities to create beautiful things together. The mission and vision of Limitless is about empowerment, integration, and imagination. Familia Unida is excited for the opportunity showcase Limitless on the main stage this Sunday.

    Volunteers will be washing wheelchairs from 10am-6pm! However, we have special guests that will also be lending a hand. The LA County Fire Department is bringing their big red trucks to show support to National Disabilities Awareness Month. They will also be washing wheelchairs, come say hello and thank you to our kind Fireman.

    Haircuts, Manicures and Makeovers 11am-4pm

    Volunteers in the beauty industry from all over SoCal donate their services to attendees!

    Beauty industry professionals volunteer their services to continue to make this event FREE. Attendees are able to get a full day of pampering: Haircut, Manicure and Makeovers.

    Lunch 12pm-2pm

    Lunch will be provided to attendees. Local restaurants have donated delicious food to be served.
