  • (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2011 - CThere is no doubt about it that Amazon's Kindle is a runaway success story. But it's success depends upon writers being able to publish their books on the Kindle. Kindle Direct Publishing makes publishing books for the Kindle to be shown on the Amazon store, a relatively easy task. But there is a problem! There is no software that exists (until now) that is specifically designed for authors to actually write their books for the Kindle. Instead, what usually happens is that a book exists in some format or other, usually Microsoft Word or Acrobat PDF, and conversion software is used to convert the books to be able to be read on the Kindle - with mixed results. Often strange characters are shown, pictures are missing while descriptions remain embedded in the book, and a Table of Contents rarely works because their are no links to the chapters concerned.

On 21st July a software program called Kindle Writer was launched, and in the short time it has been available it has been a success story. The website is on the top of the search engines, especially Google. Just do a search for Kindle Writer.

"After spending less than a day learning and using your program, I was able to get a test file to read perfectly on my Kindle, something I had been trying to do for some time by using bits and pieces of html help from various internet sources. I'll probably learn a little html along the way, and I expect I will add some hand coding here and there. But the convenience of having most of the things I'll need "under one roof" means a lot of time saving and little reason to use hand coding cold turkey in a plain text editor. Thanks for making this. I intend to recommend this program to another writer I am acquainted with who is currently in the same position as I. (And any others I run across.)" says Doug Johnson, Orem, UT United States.

One independent review has already been made, and very favorable it is too.

"Kindle Writer is an all in one tool for making basic Kindle ebooks . It can handle all the steps from editing the text file, adding formatting/cover/images, to creating the ebook and uploading it to KDP. As a single compact tool it is rather nice."

Quoting from Amazon's Guidelines for Publishers, "Kindlegen is the only tool officially supported by Amazon to convert files to the Kindle format. Only Kindle files created using Kindlegen are guaranteed to be compatible with the current and future Kindle devices & applications. Files created with 3rd party software may not work properly on current or future Kindle devices & readers." That is why Kindle Writer uses KindleGen to create Kindle books. Books written with Kindle Writer are therefore future proof. Kindle writer also uses either Kindle for PC or Kindle Previewer to proof books.

In a matter of almost three weeks hundreds of people have downloaded the free 30 day trial and news is spreading across the web about it. Sales and feedback is very positive. In fact the way things are going Kindle Writer could become the de-facto standard for writing books for the Kindle.

Download a free 30 day trial from the Kindle Writer Website and see why everyone is talking about it.
