Kent Community Foundation to Celebrate Scholarship Winners at Annual Awards Luncheon June 4

  • Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) May 21, 2014 - The Kent Community Foundation invites the community to join it in celebrating this year's scholarship winners at its annual awards banquet on Wed., June 4. Hosted with the Kent Chamber of Commerce, the annual awards ceremony will be held at ShoWare Center (11:30 am to 1:00 pm) during the Chamber's monthly membership luncheon.

    In addition to awarding 20 scholarships to Kent high school seniors, the event will include an inspirational message about the importance of the scholarships and information about how members of the community can donate or become more involved with the Foundation.

    The Foundation currently offers 10 scholarships with dollar amounts and the number of recipients differing from year to year. Available scholarships include Bob Armstrong, Richard and Ina Balash, Covington Chamber of Commerce, EHCO, Friends of KM, Ron Osborne, Linda Ruby, Wes Soderburg and the Thunderbird Community Sports scholarships. This year a new scholarship, the Johnson-Stoddard-Osness scholarship, was added. Each scholarship has different criteria that must be met.     Tickets for the awards banquet are $20 for Chamber members (pre-paid), $25 for Chamber members at the door or $30 for non-Chamber members and guests. Tickets can be purchased online at the Kent Chamber website or by phoning 253-854-1770. Please reserve your seat by Wed., May 28.
