    Kenny Roby is the former lead singer of Six String Drag, one of the bands heralded with ties to the Americana movement of the 90s. A North Carolina musician, Roby has released several successful solo albums, including "The Mercy Filter" and "Rather Not Know."

    "Kenny Roby is a prolific local musician," said Diana Tong, co-owner of Amplified Art. "We're excited that a performer of his caliber and our friends, Ashley Robinson and Jeremy Russel l of R & R, will be featured at our first ticketed concert." Amplified Art is host to open mics and special events with their versatile gallery, which is a hybrid of performance space, showcased art and retail.

    Live Music and Local Brews

    "An Evening with Kenny Roby with Special Guest R&R" will kickoff at 8PM on Saturday. Drafts from Fullsteam Brewery will be on tap. The concert will take place at Amplified Art at 224 East Martin Street, located in the historic City Market area.

    Admission is $6 in advance and $8 the day of the show.
