  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 18, 2012 - The Katonah Art Center will host its 15th Annual Student Art Show at the Katonah Public Library on June 9 from 2pm-4pm. The show will run through June 30.

Back for its 15th year, the KAC Student Art Show is a favorite among students, faculty, and the community. Last year over 600 people attended the artist's reception.

The Art Show is a great opportunity for KAC students to present to the public the pieces they've been working on all year. KAC classes are taught by working artists, including award-winning artists such as Wende Caporale, Rae Smith and Laurel Stern Boeck as well as many nationally exhibited artists such as Jock MacRae and, new to KAC, Tracy Burtz. These instructors are not only great artists, but like all of KAC instructors, they are also committed, excellent teachers. The quality of KAC instructors is evident in the beautiful work displayed each year at the exhibit.

"One piece I'm particularly excited about is a huge oil painting of a lion done by Sasha Gordon," says Loren Anderson, founder and director of the KAC. "Last year her painting of a zebra was one of the biggest hits of the show, as I am sure her Lion piece will be this year. It is truly beautiful."

The Katonah Art Center is constantly expanding, and this year has added new instructors in new media. In particular, fashion design instructor Gwen Sargeant and glass artist Martha Taylor will both present their students' work this year. "We are delighted to have these instructors as part of our KAC family," says Ms. Anderson. "Their students' work speaks for itself-tremendous."

The instructors will be at the Art Show to answer any questions about their classes. The students will also be there, ready to talk about their work.

The Katonah Village Library is located at 26 Bedford Road, Katonah, New York. For more information about the Katonah Art Center Student Exhibit or KAC classes, call 914 232-4843 or visit the KAC website at www.katonahartcenter.com.
