  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) June 03, 2013 - On June 9th, one hundred guests are expected at Clearwater's Fort Harrison for a Chef's Showcase, featuring a five-course meal created by five different area chefs. All of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Clearwater Community Volunteers. The event is being co-hosted by Tampa Bay Magazine.

Participating chefs include the Fort Harrison's Executive Chef, Zoltan Vajna; the Deputy Executive Chef of the Fort Harrison, Nico Roth; Hyatt Resort at Clearwater Beach's Executive Chef Richard Preston; Gourmet Foods International Corporate Chef Asbel Reyes and the Chief Chocolate Officer and Founder of William Dean Chocolates, Chef Bill Brown.

The meal itself is French-Asian fusion and will incorporate items as diverse as Waygu Beef, mango and micro cilantro. Wine pairings will be done with each course.

While guests enjoy their dinner, entertainment will be provided by Mr. Jeremy Moll, Ms. Joanie Sigal (Broadway and Beyond) and Ms. Colleen Lindsey accompanied by the Flag Band.

Tickets are $100 per person and are all-inclusive. The funds raised will help the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) in their on-going fundraising activities for charities such as Nourish to Flourish, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Tampa, Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Children's Home, Inc., the oldest orphanage in Tampa.

"We are delighted that CCV is the beneficiary of this event," said Pam Ryan Anderson, the group's Executive Director. "We are an all-volunteer organization and we want to be able to help as many children as we can. As humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard once said, 'You save a child and you save the nation' and I could not agree more."

Since 1975, the Fort Harrison has served as the international religious retreat for the Church of Scientology. Undergoing a complete restoration and renovation in 2009, the Fort Harrison has hosted charity concerts, dinners, community meetings and an annual Holiday Brunch, all which support the Pinellas County community.
