  • (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2010 - Pop singer/songwriter Julien Drolon has a message of peace for the world, and he's expressing it through his music. Drolon will perform on September 18th as part of the EarthDance Global Festival For Peace, the world's largest synchronized music and dance festival for peace. He will perform his debut single "Peace Through Music" among other songs at the event. EarthDance has been held annually in over 500 locations in 80 countries with all events simultaneously joining together in the Prayer for Peace.

Drolon commented, "Music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. It doesn't matter whether people are from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds - music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race."

The Philippine celebration of EarthDance will take place during a larger, month long Peace Festival - a series of gigs in Manila celebrating and promoting peace through music. While the festival dates are August 20th - September 21st, the main event is actually Earth Dance, which is a 48 hour span of time during which there is a global celebration. Drolon kicked off the Peace Festival on August 20th, and is excited about his role in EarthDance as well.

"Many local artists will be featured in this event alongside Joey Ayala, a contemporary pop artist in the Philippines. He is well known for his style of music that combines the sounds of Filipino ethnic instruments with modern pop music. Kadangyan Band will also play - they are my friends and I love their music. It's a fusion of different Filipino traditional beats with the elements of modern rock music."

Drolon plays guitar and sings in English, French, Portuguese, Tagalog (the native language of the Philippines), and his musical style is pop influenced by reggae, funk and rock. His Filipino band, which records and plays with him on the road, consists of Enzo Queyquep on lead guitar, Joseph Duenas on bass, drummer Bon Sundiang, and keyboardist Leal Nanca.
