Journalists honoured in London on the World Press Freedom day

  • (1888PressRelease) May 06, 2013 - (London, England) - On Friday, 3rd of May, Truth TV, a cable channel launched in 2005 honoured journalists from different countries in an event held at Montcalm Hotel, Central London on the occasion of the World Press Freedom day.

    Attended by journalists from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, South Africa and Portugal, among other countries, Brazil was also represented at the ceremony with journalist Márcio Rodrigo Delgado receiving a gold engraved shield given by Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al-Hashemi, chairman of the TV network currently present in France, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Turkey, Palestine, Libya, United Kingdom and Morocco.

    Based in London since 2004, where he is the international correspondent for newspapers and magazines in the UK, Portugal, Brazil and the United States, Márcio Delgado covered the official visit of former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, and joined Record TV International's team until late 2012.

    Portuguese journalist Alcino Francisco and Brazilian journalists Rodrigo Zanetti and Beth Kiskissian were also awarded on the occasion.
