  • (1888PressRelease) May 18, 2013 - Hollywood, CA - After a highly successful tour of some of the best live venues in Hollywood, Jimmy Lifton and his ten piece Alternative Delta Blues and Gospel band are in the studio.

Jimmy Lifton, formerly with Atlantic Records, has produced sixteen feature films, won five Golden Reels and won Emmy's in 2011 and 2012 and is nominated in 2013.

Utilizing Leon Russel's rare Steinway, and iconic recording rooms built by Russell's team, the Lifton band tracked exciting new material including a stunning ballad "Heal Me Tonight" and the rousing "Coming Home".

Jimmy Lifton has put together an eclectic combination of musical instruments and vocal textures to create a familiar yet hauntingly unique sound. The relationship between Lifton and his band is a collaboration of like-minded musical passions. Each instrument and vocal is given its proper due.

"Listening to Jimmy Liftonʼs band is kind of like eating a Reeseʼs Peanut Butter Cup; he blends musical tastes that seldom go together into an irresistible treat. Equal parts gospel, blues with a hint of rock and folk thrown in. Liftonʼs sound is as electric for an audience as it is eclectic." - Craig Tomashoff - Music Journalist

Jimmy Lifton's recording lineup includes Ken Christianson on violin, Patrick Taylor on upright bass, Moses Eder on percussion, Uli Sinn on lap steel and Dobro, Ben Burget on Bass Clarinet and Tenor Sax, David Williams on Steel Acoustic and Mandolin. Providing mind-blowing vocals are Reverend Cookie Brown, Reverend Darlene Watley and Toni Jones, three of the most captivating Gospel, Blues singers of today.

Lifton's recordings will be released early next year.
