  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) August 20, 2011 - The ever-outspoken Jesse Ventura sat down with Back Page Magazine recently and spoke frankly about democracy, citizen activism, and Rock and Roll.

While several of the topics covered in the new interview are drawn from his new book 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read, the new online music and entertainment e-zine prodded Ventura to also talk about more joyful and inspirational aspects of his life, which include his connections to rock and roll music.

Ventura has had a cornucopia of careers including that of Navy Seal, professional wrestler, Governor of Minnesota, actor, television commentator, and author. He recently hosted his own popular television program on TruTv called "Conspiracy Theory With Jesse Ventura."

Throughout all of Ventura's various professional and personal undertakings he has consistently been celebrated as an opinionated, straight-from-the-hip political gadfly. His attacks on the perceived hypocrisies and duplicities of the former Bush administration are memorable and ongoing.

However, as Ventura discusses in this interview, the thrust of most all of his philosophical rants is more to provide a wake-up call to the sleeping citizenry, who he believes need to take more responsibility and action for what happens in their lives.

Most people may not know that Jesse Ventura also once was a bodyguard for the Rolling Stones, or that he has a deep fondness and friendship with many of rock and roll's legendary performers. In the Back Page Magazine interview, Ventura recollects a few of his experiences and opinions on Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards, Robbie Robertson of The Band, and Led Zeppelin (his favorite band).

Although Back Page Magazine's focus is on rock music's classic artists and songwriters, it plans to feature numerous thought-provoking and entertaining interviews outside the scope of music.
