  • (1888PressRelease) February 11, 2016 - Philadelphia state and local tax (SALT) attorney Jennifer Weidler Karpchuk of national law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka will be a speaker at the ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars, an annual conference that brings the latest updates in tax law to tax professionals nationwide.

    The five-day conference held in New Orleans at the Ritz Carlton Hotel from Feb. 29 to March 4, 2016 is jointly sponsored by the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Karpchuk will present as part of a session entitled, "Top Ten Recent Legislative Enactments/Judicial Decisions Affecting Income Taxation."

    In the session scheduled for March 1, Karpchuk will inform attendees of income tax topics and current items in upcoming legislative sessions as well as recent cases. Participants will be able to identify states with significant legislative developments and how they might affect their practice, analyze the applicability of significant court cases, and recognize the ramifications of the NV Commerce Tax.

    An annual conference, the ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars lead attendees in the practical examination of current state and local tax issues facing different businesses and industries.     An experienced state and local tax attorney, Karpchuk represents clients in various matters related to state and local taxation. She is a co-author of the Pennsylvania Tax Handbook, as well as the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Bar Association Tax Section State and Local Tax Committee Property Tax Deskbook.

    A frequent presenter, Karpchuk recently was one of three featured speakers on Dec. 2 for "Hot Topics in New York / New Jersey / Pennsylvania State Tax Issues," a program sponsored by the New Jersey Society of Enrolled Agents (NJSEA). She lives in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
