Peter Michael Gonzalez is a first generation Cuban, the first of his family to attend college, and is a legal activist seeking social justice. Gonzalez has been practicing law for 23 years preparing himself for this very moment, to become a judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County.

As an assistant Public Defender, Gonzalez represented indigent criminal defendants in their hours of greatest need. Within the last 14 years, Gonzalez managed a private law firm primarily focusing on criminal defense and assisting clients with employment, immigration and other civil matters. Gonzalez is able to see things from many perspectives which has put him in the best position to prepare him for the bench.
