  • Boulder, CO (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2013 - The Colorado Cleantech Industries Association (CCIA) today announced that Jeff Bisberg was elected as Vice Chairman of its board of directors. As Vice Chairman, Bisberg will work with CCIA and its membership to develop strategic programs to help cleantech companies access capital, find collaborative partnering opportunities and grow Colorado's diverse cleantech industry.

Bisberg founded Albeo Technologies and grew it into one of the country's premier LED lighting companies. GE Lighting recently acquired Albeo. He has more than 25 years of experience in developing and marketing emerging companies, and has published more than 20 papers, patents and standards in the field of electro-optics.

"Jeff is the ultimate cleantech success story. He built his next-generation, energy-efficient lighting company from the ground up, fought for funding and continues to succeed as a leader at GE and in the lighting industry," said CCIA Executive Director Chris Shapard. "He is an invaluable asset to the CCIA board of directors and our members, and we look forward to his continued guidance and leadership."

As a leader of the CCIA board, Bisberg will assist in strategic programs to help cleantech executives and entrepreneurs build industry partnerships and offer expert counsel on raising capital. Bisberg has been an active member of the CCIA board of directors since its inception.

"From cautious investors, to increasing global competition, to changing government legislation, cleantech companies face obstacles at every stage of development," said Bisberg. "These entrepreneurs must have strong industry leadership, partnerships and a network of supporters. CCIA offers this help and I am honored to be a part of their mission."

Bisberg was a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012 and 2011 and was a finalist for the Denver Business Journal's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012.
