  • Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) August 13, 2010 - Adelphi University is proud to present "FEED THE MODELS!" an exhibition of cut-outs of models, and large scale prints on aluminum, bamboo, and other media by Jane Gennaro, a New York-based artist in the Fine Arts Exhibition Hall in the Adele and Herbert J. Klapper Center for Fine Arts.

Gennaro supplants the ideals of the female body with surreal and bizarre creations. By taking commercial images of the "ideal;" fashion models and celebrities alike, Gennaro intuitively cuts out a continuous line drawing with scissors, creating subjects with their own personalities.

Gennaro, artist, writer, actor, monologist, and voice-over artist, creates work that confronts viewers, soliciting further exploration of the superficial and transparent.

The Fine Arts Exhibition Hall is open Sunday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information about this and other upcoming art exhibitions, please visit http://www.adelphi.edu/artmuseum/exhibitions/.
