  • (1888PressRelease) May 06, 2014 - The Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association (JHNSA) has hired Joe Snowberger as the full-time consultant and "Commodore" of the organization. Snowberger will be responsible for the daily operations of the JHNSA and the effort to bring the USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2 warship to its forever home on the banks of the historic St. Johns River at the shipyards in downtown Jacksonville, FL.

Joe Snowberger has worked tirelessly for years as a key volunteer within the organization. "I feel so fortunate that what I love to do will now be what I love to do full-time," says Snowberger. "The USS Adams Museum will be a world-class attraction for our world-class city."

The new hire is a significant step forward and another sign of the momentum and support that continues to build surrounding the revitalization of downtown Jacksonville. The USS Adams Museum will provide an iconic entertainment and educational museum increasing tourism in downtown Jacksonville. In conjunction with Snowberger's appointment, Client Focused Media, Jacksonville's full-service integrated marketing and communications firm, has donated San Marco location to the JHNSA until the ADAMS arrives and the surrounding museum is complete.

Dan Bean, President of the JHNSA says, "We are thrilled that Joe Snowberger has accepted this new role. Thanks to the generous donation of office space by Client Focused Media we can put more of our funds toward this enormous project and Joe will have the opportunity to take full advantage of CFM's up close and personal support as he leads the charge to "Bring Home the ADAMS!"

The USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2) is the last surviving ship of the Adams Class guided missile destroyers; a class of warship that revolutionized naval warfare from two aspects, anti-air warfare and anti-submarine warfare. The vision to display the ADAMS as a naval warship museum began with the sailors who served in these warships, but has now become the vision of thousands of residents in the Jacksonville, Florida area. The USS ADAMS Museum will provide a lasting and fitting memorial honoring all military veterans, but especially paying tribute to the crewmen and their families who served in this special class of warship.
