The Emergenza Rock Festival is a festival for up and coming, unsigned bands. The festival idea was created in 1991 by a group of musically minded friends. In 1992 they set their dream into motion holding their first festival. Today Emergenza is the world's largest festival for unsigned bands, with concerts in more than 150 cities around the world. It features undiscovered bands from across the globe.

The festival is held in elimination rounds in different countries throughout the year, whereby the bands that advance are selected by the audiences that hear them. Professional judges choose the winners at regional and final concerts.

Nine bands will take to the stage for 30 minute sets of original music in hopes of moving on in the finals. The national winner will go on to compete at the international finals in Germany at the Taubertal Open Air Festival. The nine bands scheduled are; rock band Shirtless, alternative metal band Ashes To Ashes, alternative rock band Acinideva, alternative rock band Chaos del Signor Gaza, pop rock band Nero Latex, alternative pop band Walc, symphonic metal band Winterage, alternative rock band Juliennelmetrņ and funky rock band RUV.

The international finals will be held on August 11, 2013 in the beautiful Tauber Valley with a fantastic view of the historic city of Rothenburg. The winner of the international finals will be crowned "The Best Band in the World."
