  • (1888PressRelease) August 23, 2013 - London - Senior representatives from Iraq's Communications & Media Commission (CMC) will participate in the 8th Annual Iraq Telecoms Conference, taking place on the 7 - 9 October in Turkey, Istanbul. The industry renowned Conference is supported by key Iraqi Ministries including the Iraqi Ministry of Communications, the Iraqi Parliament, the Kurdistan Ministry of Communications and the Iraq Communications Commission.

    H.E. Dr Saffa Al Din Rabee, the Chairman of CMC & Head of Commissioners, will deliver a key note address at the Conference, which will be featured in the eagerly anticipated 'Telecommunications Connecting Iraq & Supporting Rapid Growth' Ministerial Keynote Session. The session will be opened by H.E. Dr Torhan Mudher Al Hassan, Minister of Communications, Iraqi Government and H.E. Jonson Ayo, Minister of Transportation & Telecommunications, Kurdistan Regional Government, Iraq.

    With the Iraqi Government taking steps to consider telecoms technologies as a catalyst to achieve the boarder goal of full economic recovery, the importance of innovation and adopting new technology will be highlighted in the conference. The subject of technology will also feature in a special session which will analyse its use as means of connecting remote oil & gas projects operating within Iraq, a country that holds the 5th largest proven oil reserves in the world.

    The Iraq Telecoms Conference sets the scene for the Iraqi telecommunications industry by addressing the issues that matter in the transformation of the most dynamic sector in Iraq.
