  • (1888PressRelease) September 16, 2010 - SAN ANTONIO, TX - InviCible Scars™ Advanced Scar Therapy (www.inviciblescars.com) is pleased to announce its partnership with CancerCare in October by earmarking 10% of sales towards the organization's breast cancer support services.

CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization which helps anyone affected by any type of cancer, at any stage in the disease. With 66 years of experience, CancerCare is also able to tailor its services to the unique needs of specific populations, including those affected by breast cancer.

In 2009, CancerCare helped 17,754 women with breast cancer through their free, professional support services - counseling, education, and practical advice. They also distributed $1.59 million dollars in financial assistance to 47% of these women to help them offset the cost of their treatment. CancerCare's Connect booklets and fact sheets on breast cancer were distributed to more than 188,000 patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals. Both Komen for the Cure and the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation are partnering with CancerCare to provide dedicated counseling and referral services for women affected by breast cancer.

With breast cancer survivorship driving the majority of his breast reconstruction practice, San Antonio-based plastic surgeon, Minas T. Chrysopoulo, MD has long understood the impact of scarring - both physical and psychological - on his patients. For this reason, when his disappointing investigation of the marketplace yielded scar treatments mostly ranging from impractical to inconclusive to downright hyperbole, he was determined to find a solution that would help complete their cycle of healing.

In 2009, backed by five years of research by nationally-acclaimed PhD's, chemists, formulators and business people, Dr. Chrysopoulo helped launch InviCible Scars™. Early use tests show up to 45% improvement in scar color and texture after just six weeks compared to the control group (petroleum jelly), without any irritation.

"We are deeply honored to be part of CancerCare's efforts to provide much-needed counseling and financial support to those affected by cancer," says Roland Hoffmann, CEO of InviCible Scars. "Our mission for InviCible Scars is as much about restoring confidence as it is about physical healing - so we feel very much aligned with CancerCare's mission."

InviCible Scars is available at physician's offices and medical spas across the US. It can also be purchased online at www.inviciblescars.com. Suggested retail price is $82 for 0.9 oz/ml tube.
