  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) May 03, 2013 - Invata Intralogistics, Inc., an authority in the design, implementation, and life cycle support of automated distribution and fulfillment center operations, today announced the commencement of a retrofit of its FastTrak® WM+ software at six Advanced Distribution Systems 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) facilities in New Jersey and New York.

Advanced Distribution Systems, Inc. (ADS) was incorporated in 1979 as a full service distribution 3PL company concentrating in servicing the Cosmetics, Health and Beauty, and Fragrance Industries. It operates six distribution facilities located in Northern New Jersey and Southern Rockland County New York, approximating nearly one million square feet in total size.

ADS has been leveraging Invata's warehouse management and pick-to-light systems in its distribution operations since 1995, steadily growing its client base and diversity of service offerings. Invata's newest WM+ software, FastTrak, presents an opportunity to enhance functionality and complement ADS' underlying operational expertise. The new software will accommodate comparable growth, while maintaining the 24/7/365 level of support ADS has enjoyed in working with Invata to date.

Invata will plan and execute a seamless, disruption-free roll-out of the new FastTrak system over the course of an aggressive timeline, providing for 3rd Party Logistics requirements such as: ASN and PO receipts, directed put-away, RF and light-based (PTL) picking, and a variety of shipment modalities. Additionally, FastTrak's labeling technology will utilize proprietary in-format scripting to considerably reduce the nearly one hundred unique compliance label formats currently available at ADS.

Invata's FastTrak WM+ software provides warehouse management, warehouse control, real-time material handling control, and transportation management in a single seamlessly integrated platform. The system is delivered with a simple, scalable architecture, which will adapt easily to ADS' current and future needs.

"ADS' distribution operations put huge demands on operational software, and that gives FastTrak the opportunity to shine," said Ryan Sheehan, CEO of Invata. "They are a well-managed company that engages suppliers like us with a true spirit of partnership and confidence. It will be a pleasure to continue to serve them in this fashion."

Joe Napolitano, President of ADS, said "Invata has always provided the highest possible support for their systems. We are confident that in making this conversion, we will be assured the service, flexibility, and capacity for growth we need moving into the future."
