  • (1888PressRelease) September 18, 2019 - International Money Matters Pvt. Ltd. has taken 5 positions in the Top-20 at the fourth edition of Wealth Forum TV’s Wise Advice Case Competition Awards. Two of these spots are claimed by Khushboo Dudhoria, and Khushboo Agarwal, who were awarded a joint 2nd place along with two other finalists. The other three were claimed by Navya Karanth, Sneha Jaggar, and Rohini Pamarthi, who were placed 7th, 11th, and 14th, respectively.

Considered by many as one of the most prestigious case competition awards in the country, the fourth edition saw entries from some of the best financial advisors and wealth management firms across 19 cities in India. These entries were then scrutinized and the best 48 were selected for the jury round where all 8 applicants from IMMPL made it to this round.

    This Year’s Case
This year’s case revolved around a couple Uma (now 46 years) and her husband Ramesh Iyer (50). Uma taught English (IGCSE/IB) at a prestigious international school and Ramesh is a Vice President – Manufacturing at a mid-sized privately owned auto components company.Their daughter Shruti (20) went to New Zealand 2 years ago for her undergraduate studies and their son Sekhar (18) is scheduled to fly out next month, also to New Zealand, to commence his 3 year undergrad program.

They are well settled in their careers until now. A business opportunity came up of which Ramesh was convinced after his 18 months of research and the arrangement and conviction of PE funding. Ramesh had done his homework well on the resort as well as on financing it. He saw this project as many things – a chance to do something truly exciting, to develop his beloved farm into something much bigger, to become his own boss finally, to teach city people the importance of sustainable living through his eco-tourism venture, to make big money too down the road – in short, to be happy, fulfilled, to contribute to society while becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Uma was happy to support her husband’s dreams – but only after she had secured her family’s financial futures. Uma figured that much of the big spending period would be behind them 5-6 years from now. Why not pursue your passion after we have settled the children into their lives, she tried to reason with Ramesh.

Though both were convinced of the business idea, the dilemma was the timing to take the plunge. Beyond numbers, there were conflicting emotions and aspirations that needed to be sensitively handled.
