  • Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) October 06, 2010 - Intermark Media, the leader in digital, performance-based marketing, is excited to announce its successful efforts in collecting pajamas for The Inn in Hempstead, NY. As a team, Intermark Media collaboratively raised over 30 pairs of pajamas for The Inn.

The Inn, a network of 19 local soup kitchens who specialize in aiding the Hungry and Homeless throughout Long Island, has served as a paradigm of philanthropy since its founding in 1983. Throughout the month of July, Intermark Media hosted a company fundraiser called Jammies in July. Employees were asked to donate 2 pairs of pajamas for The Inn of Hempstead. Upon collection, the pajamas were donated to The Inn, reaching a total of over 30 pairs. As a reward for their benevolent efforts, Intermark Media employees who participated in Jammies in July, were encouraged to dress down in their own "jammies" on the last day of the month.

"This has been one of the most rewarding experiences that has taken place here at Intermark" states Danielle Krongel, Chief Marketing Officer at Intermark Media. "Our employees saw the opportunity to help our community and ran with it. We became a true team; many of our staff members donated more than 4 pairs. It just shows that the people of Intermark have the ability to go above and beyond expectations, at work and as human beings. We look forward to participating in future fundraising opportunities for The Inn" Krongel concludes.

Cynthia Sucich, the Director of Communications for The Inn commented on the donation made by Intermark Media, "One thing I would like to say is that what Intermark Media did was very unique. Not many people think about doing a drive for pajamas; the fact that you thought about our guests and their comfort says a lot about your company. Pajamas bring comfort to families without a home; they provide a sense of warmth and security. The fact that your company was able to rally up and provide this comfort for them, shows you really care about the community". Sucich adds, "The guests are wearing your pajamas as we speak!"

    About The Inn at Hempstead
The Inn at Hempstead (www.the-inn.org), which was founded in 1983, is comprised of of 19 soup kitchens sprawling across the Long Island area. Their mission: to serve and provide for those who struggle with hunger and homelessness. Facilitated by empathetic volunteers who wish to make a positive impact on people's lives, The Inn strives to conquer the lingering problems of hunger and homelessness here in Long Island. The INN was conceived from the work of a singular soup kitchen at a local Hempstead church. Volunteers at the soup kitchen could hardly turn a blind eye to the tribulations facing members of their community. They realized that not only are people suffering from hunger, but also a lack of shelter. Thus, The Inn instituted a long term housing program as well as several Emergency Shelters. Now, more than 25 years later, 5,500 people weekly are served hot, nutritious meals and given the opportunity to take shelter at the INN.
