The event was hosted at the Harris Campus of CPCC as part of the Charlotte Regional Partnership's Charlotte, Energy Capital USA effort and brought together representatives from local energy businesses, colleges, and employment associations and was titled "Energy Careers for a Bright Future". Attendees learned about the career opportunities in the energy industry from both established energy companies and up-and-coming non-traditional energy companies.

The panel members discussed a variety of topics that relate to the various energy fields represented by each company.
