Inroads is a Union County, NJ, based non-profit, social services agency that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities ranging in age from 16 to retirement.

    As the largest skills training program for individuals with disabilities in New Jersey, Inroads offers vocational preparation, transition from school to work, job placement and coaching, certificate training programs, day habilitation, and mental health services.

    In a conversation with Host Lisa Marie Falbo, Angela discussed Inroads 65th anniversary, and how the nonprofit has evolved. Inroads offers various transition and placement programs, specialized groups for mental health services, and works with approximately 400 people a year. One of their latest goals is to “maximize their capabilities in the workplace.”

    Angela emphasized the importance of destigmatizing people with disabilities in the workplace. Inroads works with companies to simultaneously ease their concerns and educate them. As she has stated on numerous occasions, “People with disabilities are qualified to do a job that they are hired for.”

    March is National Disability Awareness Month and Angela reiterated the importance and need for every person who wants to work, to have the opportunity to work.
