  • (1888PressRelease) March 05, 2011 - WineFair, organised by INNOVIN of France, is a 3D online trade fair for the wine-and-spirits market, which will take place between 14 and 18 March of this year. This year's event is building on the success of the 2010 event, which was the first one of its kind.

WineFair provides visitors and exhibitors with the latest technology in real-time, interactive communication: webcams, audio-conferencing services, and online chat. Given the great success of the live conferences held during the first event (in 2010), the 2011 trade show will be bolstering that activity with a host of speakers from the wine industry, who will be dealing with all sectorial news items.

Just like traditional trade shows, but underpinned by advanced internet technology, WineFair provides three styles of booth to exhibitors - 'plain', 'standard' and 'design'. Each style features a calendar for use in arranging online meetings, the exhibitor's business card, as well as video-clips, brochures and detailed descriptions of the wines and the estates where they are produced.

The WineFair website allows businesses to manage their timetable via an online scheduling functionality. In order to access the booths, visitors simply enter a keyword into the search engine, or search by grape variety, country/region or type of wine, using one of the three pull-down menus.

Visitors can easily browse through the profiles of exhibitors by sliding the cursor over exhibitor names. Visitors wishing to interact with an exhibitor can either contact the company directly, or make an appointment via the online timetable. Meetings can be held by video conference, by audio conference, or by using instant messaging.

This year, the www.winefair.com platform will be available in both French and English, so as to welcome visitors from across the world. Last year, over 30% of visitors came from outside France (mostly from other European countries and from the Americas).

In 2010, close to 50 exhibitors participated in this innovative world-of-wine project, and over 4,300 visitors from all backgrounds were listed - mainly importers, wholesalers, hospitality professionals (i.e. from the sector encompassing bars, restaurants and hotels), sommeliers, wine retailers, journalists and wine writers.
